About Me
Deshuai Ren
Flight Instructor (CFII-A/H), Gold Seal, Advanced & Instrument Ground Instructor (AGI/IGI), Aviation Safety graduate student.
Passionate about teaching, learning, and helping the next generation of pilots reach their dreams.

Hi, I’m Deshuai, a dual-rated CFII (Helicopter & Airplane), Gold Seal instructor, and Advanced/Instrument Ground Instructor, with teaching experience across the U.S. and internationally. I’ve taught in R22, R44, Schweizer 300CBi, Cessna 152/172/182, and Pipers—covering students from zero experience to commercial and CFI checkrides.
My current base is Portland, Oregon, where I enjoy sharing the art of flight and safety culture with my students. I’m pursuing my Master’s in Aviation Safety at Embry-Riddle (ERAU) to further deepen my expertise in risk management and human factors.

Beyond flying, I’m a self-taught coder who builds tools for instructors (like my endorsement generator), and an active aviation writer. My recent passion is writing and illustrating daily story posts for my wife and our future child, blending creativity, faith, and the joy of learning together.
I strive to teach with clarity, warmth, and a spirit of encouragement—because the sky should be open to everyone willing to reach for it.
